BRGM aims to use scientific and technological advances, particularly artificial intelligence, to integrate all subsurface data regardless of its source or nature in order to improve understanding, modelling and simulation, with a view to enhancing predictive capabilities. © EFIL
To address the growing challenges relating to the subsurface, it is becoming essential to generate knowledge and strengthen predictive capabilities more quickly. To meet these challenges, we have to organise and make better use of existing data, while developing ever more sophisticated numerical models capable of accurately representing geological systems and how they function. Digital technology and artificial intelligence are emerging as key drivers for achieving these scientific advances and transforming the geosciences. The integration of new technologies helps to improve the storage, interoperability, use and availability of geo-environmental data. In line with its commitment to open science, BRGM is developing tools and services designed to ensure sustainable and shared access to reliable information on the subsurface and its condition, properties and resources, in order to support research, innovation and decision making.
